Prof. Rais Akhter, formerly visiting professor, Deptt. of Geology, AMU and Emeritus scientist, CISR, Jawaharlal Nehru University, New Delhi and former Dean, College Development Council, University of Kashmir has delivered Lecture on CLIMATE CHANGE AND HUMAN HEALTH:GLOBAL AND INDIAN SCENARIO, as invited speaker at the MTM College of Education, Tangmarg on 30th September 2013. Prof. Akhter high-lightened that climate change represents a range of environmental hazards and will effect population in both the developed and developing countries and particularly the regions where the current burden of climate sensitive diseases is high. The lecture was attended by college staff both teaching and non-teaching and a huge gathering of the college students. The lecture was informative and knowledgeable and pertained to the need of the hour. The learned professor has enlightened the audience with the current climatic changes, their causes and effects at the national and international level.
